Hello all and welcome to the October edition of the ChannelGrabber Newsletter!
*trying to resist any cheesy Halloween references*

We have been working super hard to release some major new feature updates this month, so please read on to find out what we've been hard at work on during the last month...

Find out about the improvements and brand new features we have been working on for you, and about our future plans for development.

PDF Template Designer / Packing Slips

We have made several improvements to the current Invoice Designer tool, to make it more flexible, and to allow multiple formats of PDF to be designed in ChannelGrabber.

This will allow you to design things like packing slips, to incorporate key order details without the need to print a full invoice page for every order, or customised shipping labels for if you want to print address labels in your own format rather than using a connected courier's labels for example.

On the Orders page, you can now choose whether to print a standard invoice for the orders, or you can choose from any other PDF format that you have designed, such as Packing Slips or customised 6x4" postage labels.

Data Exchange

(Automated and Custom Data Imports and Exports)

We have now introduced a brand new feature to allow you to create custom import and export data templates and even schedule where and when they are imported from or exported to on a regular basis.

This will make it easier for our users who drop-ship or receive stock updates at regular intervals from suppliers, to import those updates via CSV from FTP locations, or export stock and order data to an FTP location or email address in a more automated way, rather than having to run manual data exports from ChannelGrabber.

Courier Updates in Preparation for Brexit

Regardless of whether we leave the EU at the end of October, DPD and DPD Local have made various changes to label and manifest formats for mail leaving the UK.  Our technical team has been working closely with the couriers to prepare for this and most of the changes are handled by ChannelGrabber by putting the information needed for customs checking inside the manifest.  The main difference going forwards will be the requirement to enter a Trade Tariff Harmonised Code (HS Code) for shipments going outside of the UK and we allow this to be entered in the Ship interface:

To find your tariff codes, please visit https://www.trade-tariff.service.gov.uk/sections to find the codes most appropriate for your shipment.

Supplier Field

We will soon be adding a new field to the Products page and Order filters: Supplier
This will enable users who want to document which supplier or drop-shipper they order their products from against each SKU in ChannelGrabber, and in turn, orders can then be filtered based on the supplier(s) of the products that are ordered.

Listings Module Improvements

The initial release of our listing tool introduced the option to create new products in ChannelGrabber as well as the ability to then push out new listings to our supported sales channels.  There has been a huge amount of constructive feedback from our users on the value of this tool and also on additions and improvements that you want to see us make, so we've taken time over the last few months to collate all these requests and are now in a position to begin overhauling the listing tool to provide bug fixes and new functionality such as the ability to edit existing listings to update things like prices, titles, descriptions, images etc.  This will be a big project as we want to take our time and really do it right, but we're excited about the additional value that these updates will provide to our customers!  Watch this space for more detailed updates once this project gets underway!

If you have an idea for an improvement or new feature you would like to see us add to the system in the future, please do let us know, by emailing featurerequests@channelgrabber.com

If you're asking for something that has already been requested, we will add your vote to the feature to give it higher priority, or if your idea is totally fresh, we will add a new request to our developers' board for votes and future consideration.

We almost always prioritise feature requests based on demand, so the more users that vote for a feature, the higher up the "to-do" list it will move  ;)

Don't forget, you can also check out our public development roadmap as well, which will give you an idea of what we're working on and what's next in line/further down our developers' queue at any time:  ChannelGrabber Transparent Product Roadmap

Can't wait to hear your thoughts!

Here, we'll pass on any newsworthy events or changes that we've learned about the e-commerce industry that may affect our system or you, our customers.

eBay PayPal Scam:

2-Step Verification Recommended!

While most eBay sellers are more than likely to be aware of the recent PayPal scams on eBay, some may still be asking what they can do to better protect themselves from situations like this and the simplest answer is to make use of eBay's 2-Step Verification!

It might seem obvious, but eBay don't particularly prompt you to use it in my personal experience, so here's how to enable 2-Step Verification to protect your eBay account!

1.  Go to My eBay and click Account:

2.  Under Personal information and privacy click Personal Information:

3.  Scroll down to the Security Information section and click Edit on the 2 step verification row:

4.  You will be asked to sign into your account again, then the Manage 2-step verification page will load.  You can choose to Use the eBay app on your smart phone or tablet to verify any sign in attempts, or Get a text message sent to your device with a security code:

5.  Turn on whichever option(s) you prefer and eBay will provide the steps required to enable 2-step verification using the method(s) you choose.

I have multiple staff using the business eBay account - what if I'm not available to allow access via 2-step verification?

If you have multiple people who need access to your eBay account, they won’t have access to your mobile device, but if you can grant them access to the email account associated with your eBay ID then they can still access the account in your absence. This is the best solution for those businesses who want to secure their eBay account but need to grant multiple employees access. Bear in mind however, anyone who has access to your email account will be able to log into your eBay account.

To get eBay 2-Step Verification via email, enter the user and password on the normal sign in page then click the Need help signing in? link on the Sign-in initiated page:

You can then click the Send email button to request eBay to send you an email to verify your ID instead:

Click the Confirm button in the email and within a few seconds you will be logged in on your browser automatically too.
