Use Cloud Commerce Pro to list individual products to eBay

Today we’re going to look at listing your products on eBay.

Once you have added the products to your inventory you can get them straight on to eBay.

Open Selling in the Admin centre.

First you need to select the sales channel you are going to list on. In this case, you'll select an eBay channel.

The next screen shows all of your products organised into their product categories.

Each category is split between ranges that are listed (included) and not listed (excluded).

You can switch between these views using the toggle button on the right.

For ranges that are already listed, you’ll see a breakdown showing you the number of listings, and the type of listing, Single or Multi listed.

There is a search bar at the top of the page to allow you to find a particular product SKU, Name or Listing.

Once you’ve found the range containing the product you want to list, click Create Range Listing.

Select the Listing Profile you want to add your product to and click Set.

You are then asked to set any Pseudo Stock and set your selling price.

By default, all products in the range will be selected for addition to the listing. You can change this by unticking the product on the right-hand side. Leaving multiple products selected will create a multi listing. For more on that, see our multi-listing guide.

Once you’re happy with your product selection, stock level and prices, click Save at the bottom of the window.

If you haven’t tried to list before, you may receive a message indicating that a popup has been blocked. Cloud Commerce Pro will need to launch popups, so you will need to allow the site to do so. Look for an icon with a red X at the end of your address bar.

Select Always allow pop-ups and redirects from Cloud Commerce Pro.

Once you have done this, or if you don't have to, click Main Listing Editor. A second window will now open with the listing editor.

When the listing editor opens you are asked to select the eBay category you want to list the product(s) to.

You can use key words to find the category or click on Search from Root to navigate through each level of eBay categories. Keep adding sublevels until you're not prompted for any more.

Then click Save Selected Node.

It’s time to set your listing title.

Make the most of your eBay description; a clear, concise and accurate description really can make the difference.

eBay allows formatting that Amazon does not, so remember to make use of titles, bullet points and spacing.

Any images you’ve added to the product will be pushed out by default. If you need to you can add more before publishing the listing, or re-arrange the order by clicking modify and dragging the images into a new order.

The category you have chosen to list in determines the specific information you’ll need.

A lot of categories require Brand and Manufacturer Part Number, so having these assigned to your product in the inventory will speed up listing.

Adding more item specifics makes it easier for potential customers to find your product. These are the values used in eBay search filters.

eBay has found that buyers shopping for fashion items are 65% more likely to use filters to narrow down search results, and sellers that completed Key Item Specifics saw a 40% increase in traffic and 35% increase in conversion.

eBay options are split into three sections:

  • Compulsory Options

  • Recommended Options

  • Other Options

Compulsory options must be provided or the listing will not be published

Recommended options aren’t necessary, but including them may help boost sales

Other options is the section for all remaining attributes recorded against your product. These can be pushed out, but they may confuse customers depending on the content.

Clicking on Edit Shipping Services will open a list of all shipping services currently in use on your eBay listings.

Each service includes the name of the service on eBay, if it is a Domestic or International service, the cost of the first item. and the cost of any subsequent items.

There are two tick boxes on the right labelled Range and Item. Selecting Range will apply this shipping option for the entire listing, while selecting item will only apply this option to the variation you are currently editing the listing for.

Clicking the Pencil on the right-hand side will allow you to edit the service information, including the service and the price points.

Clicking on the Bin will remove this shipping option from the list of available options, unless it is currently in use on an active listing.

To add a brand-new service:

  1. Click on Add New Service and give the service a name for your records

  2. Choose whether the service is International or National

  3. Select the eBay service name

  4. Set the charge to your customers for this service for first and additional items

To use your business policies on the listing, use the toggle button on the right-hand side to flick over to this format.

The first time you do this, you will need to import your existing policies from eBay. Just click Import from eBay; this should only take about 10 seconds.

Once imported, you’re presented with three dropdowns:

  • Shipping Policy

  • Payment Policy

  • Returns Policy

As you select each section, the policy number will appear on the left-hand side underneath the policy type. Once you’ve selected all three, click Save at the bottom of the page.

Floating at the top of the page is a button labelled Add Listing. Clicking on this will begin the publishing process.

The listing should take less than 30 seconds to publish, once it has the Listing Status on the left will update with a Green tick.

If there's any missing information, or any of the information conflicts with what eBay is expecting, the listing status will provide a description of the issue, and the affected field will be highlighted in red in the listing editor page.
