This guide will walk you through the process of setting the Dispatch Identifier mode in Cloud Commerce Pro. These can be used in various ways, such as adding unique product serial numbers or including the use by dates for perishable products.

1. Admin Centre
From the Admin Centre menu in Cloud Commerce Pro, click the "Products" button.
2. Product Ranges
On the Product Ranges screen, click the "Search" button and find the product you want to add identifiers to.
3. Product Variation
On the Product Variation screen, scroll right down to the very bottom to find the Dispatch Identifiers section. Click the "Edit" button to continue.
4. Dispatch Identifier Mode
A small box will display which allows you to select the dispatch identifier mode that you require. You can find a brief summary of the modes below.
Disabled - This switches dispatch identifiers off for this product.
Free Text - In this mode you must enter the serial number on the dispatch queue, so you don’t have to set them against the product beforehand.
This serial number doesn’t have to be unique, so if you have an order for more than one of the same item, the serial number for each of these products could be the same if you wish.
For example you might use this if you are selling food items and you want to enter the best before date for the products you are dispatching.
Unique By Product - Again, in this mode you must enter the serial numbers on the dispatch queue, so you don’t have to set them against the product beforehand.
This serial number MUST to be unique, so if you have an order for three of a product, the serial number for each of these products must be different.
An example of this would be if you sold mobile phones and you want to enter the IMIE number for the products you are dispatching.
Pre Entered Product Serial Numbers (Single Use) - This is the same as Unique By Product mode, but with this mode you enter the serial numbers on the Product Variation screen beforehand. This allows you to create a selection of serial numbers you use for this product which can then be selected when you dispatch the item, rather than having to type in the serial number each time.
As with Unique By Product mode, these MUST be unique.
Pre Entered Product Serial Numbers (Multiple Use) - This is the same as Free Text mode, but with this mode you enter the serial numbers on the Product Variation screen beforehand. This allows you to create a selection of serial numbers for use with this product, which can then be selected when you dispatch the item, rather than having to type in the serial number each time.
As with Free Text mode, these serial numbers do NOT have to be unique.
5. Mode Save
With your desired mode selected, click the "Save" button to continue.
