As of the 1st of July 2021, the EU put into effect their new unified VAT system. As the UK is no longer part of the EU, special considerations must be made if your business sells products in the region.

Anyone can register on the IOSS portal with any EU member state, although businesses based outside of the EU will need to appoint an EU-established intermediary in order to do so.

Under the new system, an IOSS code will be assigned to you, either directly from the IOSS or from your ecommerce platform which you can pass on to your chosen courier.

The following guide is for adding your personal IOSS number which is required for independent sales such as via your website. It should NOT be used for entering ecommerce platform IOSS codes from channels such as eBay or Amazon as the system will handle this automatically.
