This guide will walk you through the process of adding new users to Cloud Commerce Pro.
User roles can be set and their permissions customised, which is useful if you want to restrict certain user types on which areas of your system they can access.
Contents:
1. Admin Centre
From the Admin Centre in Cloud Commerce Pro, click the Configuration button.
2. Configuration Options Menu
On the pop-out menu on the left of the screen, first click General to drill into that section, then click Permissions.
3. Permissions Screen
On the left of the Permissions screen, click the Users tab.
4. Users
From the Users screen, click the Add User button.
5. Add Login
Here you will be met by a small modal to enter the information relating to your new user.
First of all you need to give them a username in the text box provided. This can be anything you like, but ensure it is unique so you can easily distinguish one user from another.
6. Login Type
Use the drop down box next to Login Type to set one appropriate for the user you are adding.
The "Manager" login type has full access to all parts of the system, so this should only be used for trusted members of your team.
You can customise what the other login types have access to using permissions. This process is explained at the end of this guide.
7. Password
Use the text box to enter a password for you new user.
While this can be anything you want, it is important to use passwords that are both memorable and secure. The use of numbers, special characters as well as upper and lower case is highly recommended.
Struggling for inspiration? Try an online password generator like this one.
8. Pin Number
A pin number is required if the user is going to be using a scanner. Otherwise, you can leave this blank.
9. Save
When you have entered all of the details needed, hit the Save button to confirm everything and add the user to the system.
10. Current Users
You will be returned to the Current Users screen.
Click the Activity Access tab on the left to begin editing the various permissions for each login type.
11. Activity Access Screen (Permissions)
As mentioned earlier, the Manager login type has full access to the CCP system, but all other login types can have their access restricted.
If you require a certain area of the system to be off limits to a user type, simply find it in the list and click the green tick under that user type. The green tick will change to a red and white cross to indicate it is no longer accessible.
